Bumping Bronx

The Unfortunate hidden past revealed in the scenes of a Bronx Tale demonstrate the dynamic forces between micro and macro sociological forces clash within a person's life. In the movie that person is Calogero, also known in his thugish circles as "C'.

His macro forces consist of overarching sociological views that exist in his neighborhood and the time period, especially towards racism. He grew up in a homogenized Italian neighborhood, where little or no diversity existed. This existance of nonexisitant diversity created friction and conflict where cultures and different races would clash. His friends, his family, all his influences and history would also push him towards more of a prejudiced view.

This is where the microforces come in. His interactions with the girl, Jan, a black girl, a social taboo in her neighborhood, all him to see past all the influences that surround him. His interaction with Sonny who tells him that he only gets 3 "great ones" in an entire life time help influence him to strive to date Jan also.
